It was in the late 1980’s or early 1990’s that the Guadalupanas started the Mother’s Day Pilgrimage. Men also walk on this pilgrimage. There are now six routes on this pilgrimage to El Santuario in Chimayo: Trampas, Truchas, Cordova, Pojoaque, Nambe, and Holy Family, Chimayo. This pilgrimage is held each year on the Saturday before Mother’s Day, concluding with celebration of the Holy Mass at El Santuario.
